Fried Beef with Sate Powder “Homemade

Difficulté : Easy
Catégorie : Savory
Cout : Low cost

Yes, it’s done! I bought this kitschy cast iron dish! I’ve been wanting to have a hot plate dish like in a restaurant for so long… I cracked the recipe of the satay powder to be able to make it again at home, even if it is not very expensive in Asian grocery stores. This beef is very tasty and the sauce caramelizes on the hot plate. This plate makes the show, but you can do without it and serve the meat normally. But with her at the table, in front of everyone, the beef is sizzling, the sauce is sizzling, mouths are salivating!

For this recipe, I measure in teaspoons. I use measuring spoons for this. It’s easier than weighing (especially for such small quantities!!) just take the corresponding spoon and measure the spices, filling them to the brim. I do the same thing in my gingerbread and speculoos recipe and many other recipes. You will find them everywhere on the internet or even in specialized stores. A real ally!

Recipe of the frying beef with satay sauce:

Satay powder (keeps very well):
-150g unsalted roasted peanuts
-30g of raw sesame seeds
-50g of sugar
-2 teaspoons garlic powder
-1+1/2 teaspoon of hot pepper
-5 teaspoons of paprika
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1/2 teaspoon ginger
-ground grey pepper

Beef fry (serves 4):
-500g of beef fondue
-2 tablespoons of oil
-2 cloves of garlic, crushed
-1cm of grated fresh ginger
-2 to 3 heaped tablespoons of satay powder
-100ml of water

Place the raw sesame seeds in a small blender and grind into a powder.

Place in a bowl.

In the blender, put the unsalted roasted peanuts, salt, sugar and spices

Reduce to a fine powder.

Pour into the bowl with the sesame seeds and mix this time. It is better to blend before the sesame seeds because if you put everything together, it will take longer and the peanuts will be pureed before the sesame seeds are even powdered.
Mix well and put this powder in a jar. It can be kept for at least one month.
By putting it in a small jam jar and shaking it well, small pellets will form, perfectly resembling the powder on sale. It is the peanut that does this.

On the day of cooking the beef, slice it thinly.

Put the dish (or dishes) in the oven at 200°C.

Heat the oil and add the garlic and ginger.

Add the beef. Sauté over high heat.

Put 2 to 3 tablespoons of satay powder in a bowl with water and mix well to dilute it.

Add the sauce when the meat is not yet fully cooked.

Always on high heat, stir constantly over fairly high heat.

When the peanut fat comes out, it’s ready!

Take the cast iron pan out (it’s very hot!!!) and pour the meat in just before serving: it will be bubbling!

Bubbles everywhere!

Serve immediately with a bowl of plain rice.
